Childbirth Education Course

Prepare for your parenting journey with Thomson’s comprehensive Antenatal/Prenatal Course, designed to equip you with the essential knowledge and practical skills to confidently welcome your little one.

What You’ll Learn:

• Breastfeeding and alternative feeding methods
• Baby bathing and newborn care
• Labour process and pain relief techniques
• Prenatal exercises
• The role of partners during pregnancy and after delivery

Course Format:

• Theory Class (4 Hours): Conducted online via Zoom by our experienced lactation consultant. Held monthly on the first Saturday of the month, from 9am-1pm.
• Practical Class (3 Hours): Hands-on learning in a small group (3–8 couples) for personalised guidance. Location: 1 Thomson Road, Balestier Hill Shopping Centre #01-348 Singapore 300001.
• E-Learning Portal (Accessible Anytime): Enjoy complimentary access to a wide range of resources, including: Baby care and breastfeeding guides, Course notes and newborn care videos by Thomson Paediatricians, Confinement care tips by Thomson TCM Physicians, Theory class schedules and Zoom access links.

Exclusive Add-on: Lactation Consultation

Terms & Conditions of Childbirth Education Course

• Valid for one (1) 3-hr practical session. Session is conducted on weekdays or weekends, depending on the package purchased.
• A minimum of 3 couples is required for the practical session to start.
• Weekday sessions: Fridays, 1pm – 4pm or 7pm – 10pm;
• Weekend sessions: Saturdays and Sundays, 9am – 12pm or 1pm – 4pm
• A 4-hour theory class is conducted online via Zoom each month by our Lactation Consultant. Access is available until one (1) month after your Estimated Due Date (EDD).
• Includes free access to our E-Learning portal until one month after your EDD. Contents include baby care and breastfeeding resources, course notes, newborn care videos by Thomson Paediatrician, confinement care videos by Thomson TCM Physician, theory class schedule and access links.
• Includes a complimentary learning kit worth $80 for use during the practical session. Kit includes: playmat, baby vest, swaddle, mitten, diapers, and wipes.
• Rescheduling of the practical session is allowed with at least 1–2 working days’ notice. Please email cbe@thomsonmedical.com for any changes.
• Course is non-refundable and non-exchangeable for cash. Cancellation requests due to medical reasons will be subject to management approval.

Terms & Conditions of Lactation Consultation

• Valid for weekday appointments (exclude Public Holidays) or Thomson Medical Centre In-patient lactation appointment. All visits require advance booking via phone (6251 4090) or WhatsApp (9119 3502) or email parentcraft@thomsonmedical.com
• Consultations will be held at: Thomson ParentCraft Centre, 1 Thomson Road, Balestier Hill Shopping Centre #01-346, Singapore 300001
• Centre appointment slots are available from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm on weekdays only.
• Prenatal lactation consultations are applicable for mommies between 30th to 36th week of pregnancy.
• The session includes 45 minutes of one-to-one personalised consultation. Additional time is chargeable at $35 per 15-minute block, for up to 30 additional minutes.
• A $25 surcharge applies for requests to book a preferred lactation consultant.
• This consultation is non-refundable and non-exchangeable for cash.
• This consultation is valid for one (1) year from date of purchase.
